SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS

OUR MISSION

In accordance with our ISO 14001 accreditation and in partnership with our installation sub-contractor, we have established a clear framework to consider, identify and reduce the environmental impact of our business operations. We are committed to continually monitoring and developing the sustainable solutions we provide

WASTE HIERARCHY

As part of the projects we work on, we are often tasked with clearing unwanted furniture and/or disposing of protective packaging. In accordance with the EU Waste Framework Directive, we respond using the ‘Waste Hierarchy’ approach, unless directed otherwise by our client.

REDUCE

We will first seek to identify whether any furniture, IT and ancillary items could be reused within the client’s estate. Our installation sub-contractor has a 1,500 sq.ft. workshop where dedicated and experience refurbishment teams can repair, reconfigure and reupholster items, extending their life cycle for a new use/location. Alternatively, we have access to 300,000 sq.ft. of secure warehousing space for short or long-term storage and available to be called off as necessary.

REUSE

Following the reduction process, we will work in partnership with known charities, schools, clubs and organisations, to identify furniture and IT items that could be reused. We will produce an inventory of available items and organise distribution accordingly.

RECYCLE

All waste generated from works on site, including packaging materials and any remaining unwanted furniture items following the reduce and reuse efforts. Waste will be broken down and sorted in cardboard, plastic, wood, metal and general waste at our installation sub-contractor’s dedicated in-house Recycling Plant. Separated material is compacted using specialist recycling machinery; cardboard and plastic are compacted into bails; metal is broken down as far as possible; wood is crushed using a roller crusher machine.

RECOVER

Compacted material is collected by external specialist recycling partners who carry out the relevant recovery process to re-capture material and/or energy from the waste stream.

DISPOSAL – ZERO WASTE TO LANDFILL

By using this approach to disposal requirements, we aim to achieve zero waste to landfill.

REPORTING WASTE

Documentation is produced clearly detailing what and how much has been responsibly recycled in accordance with regulation 12 of the Waste Management Hierarchy.
